Potty Training 101

I decided to potty train Nixon all the way back at the beginning of October.
I'm just WAY behind on blogging.
Anyway, the night before I started the potty training, Nixon and I went on a "potty date."
He came with me to the store and I let him pick out everything.
He picked out the balloons, the streamers, what undies he wanted, as many capri suns as he wanted, his treats, his potty jar, and his stickers.
He was SO excited.
We talked about going potty on the big boy potty the whole time we were on our date.

After he went to bed, I decorated his bathroom.
I know it may seem a little over the top, but I knew that I had to make it as exciting as possible for him.
He absolutely loved the bathroom when he first saw it.

This was his potty chart.
Every time he went potty on the toilet, he got to pick out a sticker and put it on the poster board.
(I meant to get a picture of it with all the stickers after we were done training but I forgot.)

He also chose this pumpkin to be his potty jar.
Every time he went potty he was able to pick one treat out of the pumpkin.
Every time he had an accident, I took a handful of treats out of the pumpkin.
He did not like that part at all!

He was seriously a champ.
I was dreading potty training so bad.
I was nervous about it because it's something I had never done before.
But Nixon totally surprised me!
He only had 2 accidents on day 1.
I was so excited.
Day 2 was a different story.
He had 4 accidents.
And the part that I was worried about was that he didn't even care that he was wet when he had an accident.
I knew that I couldn't give up though.
Day 3 he had 2 accidents.
And day 4 he had NO accidents.
I was SO SO SO happy and excited.
And from then on he's been a champ.

He looks so cute in his big boy undies.
He's getting so big and growing up so fast!!!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween.

Mommy and Taytum were kitty cats.

Nixon was the cutest pirate ever!

It was a super fun day!

Fall Activities

We have had so much fun this fall.
Holidays keep getting better and better as the kids get older.
The weather has been beautiful this fall and we have taken full advantage of it.
There are so many fun fall activities around here.
We love it!

We went to Hee Haw Farms a couple of weeks ago.
It was fun.
We loved that it was so small and not very busy.

My cute family on the hay ride.
I promise Nixon loved it even though he doesn't look happy in the picture.
He just does not like to take pictures.

This slide was a blast.
I went up there with Nixon for his first time down and I thought he'd want me to go down with him but he wanted nothing to do with me when it was his turn.
He is such a brave little boy and has absolutely NO fear.
He loved it.
He went probably at least 10 times.
We had to pull him away from it with a little fit thrown.

Another night we went to Jakers Jack O Lanterns in Springville.
Nixon was so excited about going to a pumpkin patch.

They had a whole bunch of animals that the kids could feed.
Nixon loved feeding them because they would eat right from his hand.

We also painted pumpkins one day.
Nixon loved it of course!
Taytum loved watching.

We also went to Cornbelly's and that was a blast! (I forgot my camera at home.)
There is SO SO SO much to do for little kids there.
Nixon had a blast and has asked to go back many, many times.
It has been an eventful October and we have loved every minute of it.

"BEAR"izona

Nic had his yearly baseball tournament in Phoenix again.
We love these baseball trips.
A lot of our best friends are with us so we always have a blast.

Nixon calls Arizona "Bear"izona.
So that's what we call it now.
I can't even tell you how excited he was to go to Bearizona.
I had to make a countdown chain because he would ask me multiple times a day when we were leaving.

He was seriously in heaven the entire time we were there.
He played and played and played for 4 days straight.

I love watching Nic play.
He looks SO good in his baseball uniform.

Nixon had to wear eye black just like daddy.
He would not take it off either.
At night when we gave him his baths, he made sure that we didn't wash the eye black off.

He's our future little baseball stud.

Dirky boy and Nixon.

Taytum was a peach the entire trip.
She hates her car seat so the drive was horrible.
But as far as the trip went, she was great.
Both kids slept great in the hotel room which we were thankful for.

These kids seriously had a blast together.
Nic had two games everyday and these kids just played so good the entire time.
I felt like I barely saw Nixon during the baseball games.

Nixon and Hudson.
They are SO cute together.

The boys after their last game.
Nic hit a homerun during this tournament.
I was a pretty proud wife!

My little sweetie pie.
We got so lucky because we missed that nasty snow storm here in Utah.
And we were in mid 70 weather the whole time.
We had a blast.
Can't wait til next year!

Packing

We went to Arizona at the beginning of the month to watch Nic play in a baseball tournament.
Nixon was SO excited for the trip.
We made a countdown chain and everything.
So the day before we left I started to pack while he was awake but that definitely wasn't working.
So throughout the day I got everything out of his room that I needed to pack and decided that I would pack after he was in bed.
After he was in bed for about a half hour, Julie came down and told us Nixon's light had been on so she peeked in and came and got us.

This is what we found.
Nixon was packing his stuff.
It was seriously the cutest thing ever.
It even made me cry a little bit.
He was so excited to pack his own stuff.
And he was so serious about it.

He had his socks and swimming suit all lined up.
He was putting so much thought into the way he was packing everything.

He had his shirts laid out on the bed.
So neat and organized.
(these are all his jammy shirts)

He even changed out of his jammies and put some random clothes on.
He pretty much got everything out of his bottom two drawers and packed it all.

I had to take a picture of his pants on backwards.
We were finally able to get him to sleep.
And the next morning he made sure that his suitcase was still packed.
And we HAD to bring it with us.
So we had an extra suitcase full of random clothes with us on the trip.
We even had mismatched house slippers and big boy undies that he doesn't even wear yet.
He is such a little stud.

This & That

I am so super slacking at blogging these days.
Here's random pictures from the end of summer.

We went up to Park City one day to ride the Alpine slide.

Taytum and I stayed behind and waited for the boys to come down the slide.
She loves to eat her snacks.

Here are the boys at the end of the slide.
Nixon LOVED it!!

Nixon is OBSESSED with baseball.
(he has one proud daddy)
He found Nic's catcher mask and wears it all the time.

Nixon loves to get in the crib and play with Taytum when he hears that she's awake in the morning or after her nap.
She's loves it too.

I told Nixon to make a funny face and this is what he did.

Taytum's side pose.
Nixon used to do the same thing.

Daddy being funny with Tayters.

These two are starting to play with each other.
I love it!!!
Nixon is amazing with his little sister.
He loves her.
He is so protective over her.
For the most part, he's pretty patient with her.
She's starting to get into all his toys.
If he's playing with something, naturally she will get in the middle of it and he doesn't like that but he's getting better with sharing.

Nixon loves to build tracks for his cars and trucks.
Taytum usually ruins these tracks but he just rebuilds them.

She's our happy little baby.
So content all the time.
