Slacker

I have totally neglected my blog and have really been slacking so here's a little update on what's going on...

Nic bought me a ticket for my birthday to fly home for a week. I was so happy because I had been getting really home sick. I had a lot of fun while I was there. I got to go to lunch with a few of my girlfriends. It was fun to catch up and see them. I really enjoyed spending time with my family and with Nic's family. I got glitter toe's done with Kelli and her mom. I was able to go to Jason and Kelli's wedding which was absolutely beautiful. I had a great time and am so thankful to Nic for flying me home. And I didn't even take one picture while I was there....oops!

This past Monday, Nic and I drove down to San Diego to meet up with Josh, Meghan, and the kids. We spent the day at Sea World and absolutely loved it. We had so much fun with them. It was so fun to see how excited the kids got seeing all the animals. We were really glad that we were able to spend time with Josh and Meg. I did take pictures, but I left my camera in Meg's purse so I won't be able to post any pics for a couple of weeks.

I'm 17 weeks pregnant now. I'm finally over the sickness and am now able to enjoy being pregnant. Nic and I get to find out what we're having next week Thursday. We are SO excited and can't wait to find out if we're going to have a mini Nic or a mini Me. Nic's doing well selling but he's anxious to be done with the summer. I am too. We can't wait to get back to utah.

We miss you all!!!

....a walk down memory lane....

I got this from a couple of my friends blogs, and I've seen that everyone is doing it, so I thought I'd join in on the fun! Here's the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, leave a memory anyway!

I'm 23!!!

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday a great one! I turned 23 on July 11th, and I was so happy to have my parents and sister here to hang out with me while Nic had to work all day. We woke up around 9 to do presents and so we could hang out a little before Nic had to head off to work. Nic was so cute and bought me a ticket to fly home for a week. YAY!! So i'm heading off to Utah tomorrow for a week. The rest of us hung out for the rest of the day. That night, my parents and I went to dinner at Mimi's Cafe. It was a nice relaxing day, and I really enjoyed it. I'm sad Nic couldn't hang out with us, but he had to work. Since he had to work all day, we went to the Cheesecake Factory today to celebrate with the whole family. I LOVE cheesecake more than anything, and I love that restaurant. It was good food and great company. Thank you mom and dad, Lani and Nic!!!

All of us at The Cheesecake Factory. The one here is not nearly as busy as back home. We had a 5 min. wait. It was so nice compared to the hour and a half wait back home.

The night of my birthday, the wives did cake and ice cream for me. It was so nice of them, and it was fun to all get together. Thank you girls!!!!!

Visitors

This past week, my mom, dad, and sister came and visited us here in California. It was SO much fun to see them. And once again, I know I always do this, but I didn't take very many pictures. We didn't do a whole lot while they were here, but it was so nice to just relax, hang out and spend time with them. We went up to Aunt Trudy's a few times to hang out there and ate a lot of good food there. My dad made his enchiladas (for any of you who have had them, you know how good they are) 2 times for me because they tasted SO good and I absolutely LOVE them. Thank you guys for everything you did for us out here!!! Thanks for all the good food and especially for the great company. And mom, thank you SO SO much for deep cleaning my bathroom. I was VERY greatful for that since the smell of bathroom cleaners was too much for me. We love you guys a lot!!!!

One day we went up to Santa Barbara with Aunt Trudy, and these pictures are from the top of the court house there. It is by far the coolest court house I have ever seen. It's designed after an old spanish castle. This is the view from the very top of it. It was really neat. And these are the only pictures I took of what we did while my parents were here. I really am going to try to be better at taking more pictures. (I know I always say that too)

4th of July...a little late

This 4th of July was definitely different for me. Nic was back at home in Utah for the weekend to attend a funeral for one of his good friends. So luckily I have some family out here. I started out the day going to my Aunt's ward breakfast. We had homemade scones and fresh fruit. It was so good and I had a lot of fun hanging out with Karalee, Scott & little Austin. Kelli and Kori also came with me and I had a lot of fun with them too. I forgot to take pictures of that so...sorry!

That night, the office had a b.b.q. but I didn't really want to go since Nic wasn't there. My cousins invited me to go watch the fireworks up in Santa Barbara. Kelli and I went and had a lot of fun. We sat on the beach and watched the show. Karalee's best friend Carlina got there at like 3 in the afternoon to save our spot (the beach was absolutely packed with people) and she made this great couch out of sand. It was so nice. We had our own little lounge to watch the show.

Here are few pictures of the fireworks. It was a great firework show. It was interuppted for a little while and a lot of people thought it must have been over, so a ton of people left. We knew it couldn't have been over because there was no finale. So we waited and waited and it finally started up again, and the finale was great. After it was over, we found out that the interupption was caused by a stabbing in the beach bathroom that was probably about 25 yards away from us!!! I think I heard that 3 people were involved and the youngest involved was 13 years old. I couldn't believe that we were that close to something so violent. Luckily we didn't see or hear any of it happen, but it was still crazy. Overall, I had a great day. It would have been better if I could have been with Nic or with our families, but it was still good!

American Idol

Our good friends Jeff and CharLee introduced us to the game American Idol and we had to go buy it for ourself. We played it the other night and had a blast. Here is Nic singing his heart out!

Here and Jason and Kelli taking their turns. We had so much fun playing this game. It's hilarious sometimes to listen to each other. We had a blast!

Grandma Huish's Tacos

I know this is random, but I had to take a picture for my family to show that I have finally learned how to make Grandmas tacos. These are a tradition in the Huish family, and we all agree that they are the best tacos ever! The first time I tried to make them I didn't even get close. This was the second time, and I was SO excited that I got them right. Because Nic loved them, I knew I had them right. The first time he ate grandmas I think he ate like 6 or something. I am very proud of these. (if you couldn't tell)

Road Trippin

Last Wednesday night, Kelli and I decided we were going to drive to Utah for the weekend. Kelli and Jason found a little puppy for sale in Riverton that they wanted, so we thought it was a good excuse to take a little road trip to Utah. We left early Thursday morning and drove all day. We made a stop in Vegas to eat lunch at Cafe Rio. It was so good!! We then stopped in Santaquin to say hi to Julie and it was really nice to see her. We surprised my mom and dad and showed up on their door step. They had no idea we were coming. It was a lot of fun to surprise them.

Lani told me that Tim McGraw was in town Friday night and that tickets were still available. Kelli and I went and got tickets and were SO excited to go. The concert was at the Usana Amphitheater and the weather was so nice. Jason Aldean opened for him and that was fun to see him live also. We had a great time! We also ate dinner at Cafe Rio in Draper again. Haha! I had to get my fix in while I was there because I have been missing it so much since I have been in California.
Before the concert, me, my mom, and Kelli went to lunch at Kneaders (it was so good) and then picked up little Brody. He's a miniature Dachshund just like Emmi. He is such a cutie and it has been so much fun to see them play together.

Here is Emmi and Brody sleeping together cuddling on our drive home. It was so cute to see them cuddle and be so cute with each other. Since we have gotten back to California, they have been playing like crazy and just can't get enough of each other. Our little road trip was so much fun! It was short, but much needed. It was so nice to be back in Utah, experience summer nights again (I miss them a lot), and it was so nice to see Julie and my family. We miss you guys and love you lots!!!

Congratulations Jason & Kelli

Last Sunday our good friends Jason and Kelli got engaged. We are so excited for them to be getting married. Kelli had no idea it was coming but the rest of us did. The four of us went to the beach to watch the sunset. Jason and Kelli walked off towards the water and Nic and I just kinda stood back. Jason proposed and Kelli was so excited. We took some pictures of them and had fun doing it. Congrats you two!!
Here's a picture of the pier at sunset. I thought it was so pretty so we had to get some pictures of it.
As Nic and I stood back while the two of them walked off we decided to take some pictures at the beach. It was a beautiful sunset! It reminded me of days back in Hawaii at the beach watching the sunset.
