Nixon and His Papa's

Nixon absolutely loves his Papa's.
I know that if anybody asked him who he'd want to hang out with he would either say Papa Huish or Papa Warren.

He always has so much fun when he's with them.
They are always doing fun "guy" stuff with them

I love that he has gotten to know both of them so well.
I love that he has such a great relationship with both of them.
And I know that they both love him to pieces.

Juliane's Girls

Juliane and the girls were here for the summer.
It was so nice seeing them more often.
Kristen flew in for a weekend. (she's another half sister)
We all went out to dinner.
It was so fun having all of us there and catching up with everyone.

It's crazy how you can tell that we're all related.

Kristen and I.

Cousins

We have LOVED being home this summer.
One main reason is because we've been able to hang out with family a lot.
We've had a lot of fun with the cousins this summer.
Particularly Nixon.
He LOVES his cousins.
He gets so excited when we tell him that we are going to see them.

We went to the Ute Stampede in Nephi with Josh & Meg & the kids.
Nixon was seriously in heaven.
We sat in the grandstand and we were in the front row.
(thanks to Uncle Mark and Aunt Leann for the tickets)
We had the rodeo clown over joking with the kids.
The announcer came over a couple of times.
The kids got to pet the horses.
It was great.
Now I can't wait for Nixon to be old enough to do Muttin Bustin.

A couple weekends ago we went up to Shadow Mountain and spent the afternoon up there.
We had a blast.
The kids especially.
We made tin foil dinners.
Roasted marshmallows and made Smores.
Rode the 4 wheeler.
Shot BB guns.
Nixon and Colby played baseball for ever.
Josh and Nic had a shooting contest.
Josh and Nic also had a football throwing contest.
And we all just sat and visited.
It was great.

Cute Madi with her pink BB gun.
It was the coveted gun because it shot the best.

The kids had this 4 wheeler going the entire time we were up there.
They would take turns driving it with everyone else on it

This was Nixon's first time shooting a gun.
He was so excited and loved every second of it.

And of course Nic had to get in on the fun.
And I have to say that it was my first time also shooting a gun.
How pathetic.
My 2 1/2 year old and I both shot a gun for the first time on the same day. HA!

It's been a great summer.
I'm sad to see it leaving.
But I do love fall!!!

Mr. Nixon

Nixon has got to be one of the busiest 2 1/2 year olds I know.
He has got the biggest personality ever, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger by the day.
He's SO full of life.
He keeps us on our toes every minute of the day.
He is SO fun to be around.

We have had quite a busy summer this year.
We have loved being home all summer and we have been taking full advantage of it.
We have gotten snow cones a ton and Nixon's favorite flavor is Tigers Blood.

We are constantly on the "GO" with this little guy.
There's no sitting still and no sitting around with him.
I've said this a million times on this blog, but if we let him, he could be outside everyday all day.

He's at the stage in life where he loves to pick out his own clothes.
Sometimes we have to say absolutely not with some of the things he picks out.
Other times we don't care and we let him out of the house with what he chooses.
This was one of those days.
He had to dig through his stored away clothes because he had to wear his snow boots for some odd reason.
(I brought a pair of flip flops with me because I knew he'd get hot even though he insisted he wouldn't)
I love that he doesn't have a care in the world.
He doesn't care what other people think.

He's beginning to become the sneaky little boy that I knew would surface sooner or later.
I've caught him in the sugar, in the chocolate milk mix, sneaking otter pops and candy.
I know he's up to something when I don't hear him and when it's quiet.
If I yell for him and ask what he's doing, his response is usually "nothin."
He's starting to pick up on things we say and I love to hear how he uses them when he's having a conversation.
He says "never mind" all the time.
I asked him to build me a castle with is blocks while I was in the shower one time.
In the middle of my shower, he runs in the bathroom, opens the shower curtain and says, "Mom, the castle is making me crazy."  HAHA.
He was obviously frustrated about it.

This little kid is absolutely obsessed with baseball.
His toy of choice is a ball, a bat, and his baseball mitt.
We went to the home run derby on my birthday and he was in heaven.
He always tells us that he's going to be a baseball player and a pitcher.

He's still not a huge fan of the camera.
We usually have to bribe him somehow to take a good picture.
He's quite the little ham though.
He's always entertaining us.
He's always making us laugh.
And he also makes us frustrated a lot of the time.
He has quite the little stubborn attitude.
He tends to be quite the little brat when he's tired.
He knows how to do everything on his own, and that is frustrating a lot of the time.
He's a VERY independent little guy.

He has loved the water this summer.
We have gone to the splash pad in Spanish Fork a ton and he loves it.
He also loves the Payson Pool.
He has no fear.
He's a wild little man and it makes me nervous all the time.

He jumps off of everything.
He climbs on everything.
He loves going on 4 wheeler rides with daddy.
He absolutely adores his little sister and is very protective over her.
He plays pretty well with other little kids.
He loves playing with the neighborhood kids.
He's pretty good about sharing with other kids.
He's the most polite little boy ever.

Getting him to sit down and eat is impossible.
He usually eats on the run.
He's always too busy to sit down for any amount of time.
Right now his favorite movie is "The Sandlot."
He loves animals.
He loves being up in the mountains.

He loves his cowboy boots and his cowboy hat that Papa Huish bought him.
He loves is Papa's and his Grandma's.
He loves to sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Horsey Horsey," and the "ABC Song."
He also always sings "Cleanup Cleanup" every time he cleans up his toys.
He loves the "Going On A Bear Hunt" story and can tell the entire thing by himself.
He can also tell the "3 Little Bears" story by himself.
His little imagination is starting to come to life and I love listening to him play with his toys when he doesn't know I'm listening.
He can count to 20 on his own.
He knows all the colors.

I seriously can't express how much we love this little guy.
We are the LUCKIEST parents in the world to have him in our family.

It's Here....

This means I'm going to have a husband who is M.I.A. due to:
College Games
NFL Games
Fantasy Football

I will admit though....I love it.
I love watching the games with him.
I love listening to him yell at the coaches, players, and the referee's.(through the t.v.)
I love watch him pace around the room because he's so nervous.
I love that he's so passionate about sports.

Go Cougs!!!

8 & 9 Months

Taytum is 9 months old today.
I'm the biggest slacker ever.
We have been so busy, I don't ever have the time to sit and blog it seems.
I'm doing her 8 and 9 month post together because I am that far behind.

She is still the most mellow baby we have ever seen.
She is so happy all the time.
She's so content and so chill.

She finally started sitting up at 8 months.
She loves to play with her little toys.
Her favorite thing to do is watch Nixon.
She smiles huge and kicks like crazy when he's running around or playing in front of her.
She loves him SO much.

She started army crawling at about 8 months also.
She can totally crawl normally now and has been for about 3 days.
She will crawl to whoever she wants and try and hold her arms up to them while lying on her stomach.
It's SO cute!
She holds her arms up when she wants to be held.

She's quite the eater these days.
She eats 6 oz. every 4-5 hours with solids in between.
She loves any type of fruit.
The only veggies she'll eat are sweet potato, sweet potato with corn, squash, and avocado.
She loves yogurt and mashed potatoes too.
She also loves all her little snack foods.
Whenever we are eating anything, she's always trying to lean in and get a bite.

Like I said earlier, she LOVES Nixon.
She loves to play with him.
She loves to be by him.
And he is the best big brother ever.
Whenever she's crying he's always saying, "It's OK Taytum. It's OK."
It's so cute.
He always wants to "help" me with her. HAHA.
And he's always so worried about her.

 She loves to be outside.
She always happy when we're doing something outside.
She loves the grass.
She loves to go on four wheeler rides.
She hates being thrown up in the air.
She loves being in the water.
She's still a little cuddle bug.

Her main nickname is Taters.
Nixon mostly caller her Tater Tots or Tater Mater.

This is her side pose that I love.
Nixon used to do it and I was so happy when I saw her do it for the first time.
She can go from sitting to crawling and from crawling to sitting.

We seriously can't get enough of her.
We all love her to pieces.
She's such a little angel baby.
We are SO lucky to have her be a part of our family.
