More Pool Time

Here we are at the pool. We pretty much try to go everyday, depending on the weather. The pool is definitely our favorite activity. I love it and Nixon loves it too. It's nice and sunny here (most of the time) and humid. The pool is a nice relaxing activity that we enjoy a lot. The only thing that would make it better is to have daddy there with us. But we really appreciate how hard of a worker her is. We love him a lot!

I sit Nixon in his Bumbo chair when i'm laying out. He just sits and chills in it and I love it. I usually set him in the shade cause i'm extremely paranoid about him getting sunburnt. And we LOVE this towel that Aunt Trudy made for Nixon!

Here he is in all his cute glory. I exchanged his turtle floaty for this one, cause the turtle's head on the other floaty was in the way. Anyway, he loves the water as you can see!
Side note: He has been a happy boy today! I think he might be teething, and that might be why he's been so fussy. And thanks to everyone who called me yesterday after I posted about him crying all the time. I really appreciated all the support and love you all!!!

Hard Baby

So this is pretty much what I have been dealing with these last almost 2 weeks. I thought he was past the crying and being fussy all day stage, but I guess being happy all the time was just a phase he was going through. And man I wish he was still happy all the time. These past two weeks have been pretty rough. Nic is gone working all day..literally. He leaves usually around 11:45 and gets home around 9:30. So I get to be home with my little man all day. I love being home with him, don't get me wrong, but it's been a rough go lately. I just don't know what to do. I try everything. Feed him, rock him, change his bum, take his temp, play with him, make sure he's OK. And nothing seems to work sometimes. He's a baby that always seems to need to get out of the house (like his mom) so we go on walks and that hasn't seemed to work lately either. Car rides do help, but I'm just not in the mood to always go on a car ride. I know that we will get through his because I know Heavenly Father only gives us what we can handle, but sometimes I don't know how I will get through it. These past few days, I have had to just set him in his crib and let him cry it out. And of course he's not the type of baby to cry himself to sleep. So he just cries and cries and cries. Then it makes me feel bad because he's crying so hard. And I'm not one to usually vent on here, but I know there are a lot of mom's that have had experience with this. I was reading my friend Tina's blog the other day and she is going through the same thing and I left a comment on her blog telling her that it gets better and they just snap out of it. Well I guess I spoke too soon. And please don't get me wrong. I love Nixon more than I think he will ever know (until he has his own kids). I love love love being a mom and I wouldn't change it for the world. I just feel overwhelmed and inadequate sometimes. Nic and I were having a conversation this morning about how hard of a baby he has been since he was born. Of course he brings us so much joy and happiness, but it's just hard sometimes. It's crazy how being a mom, for me, has been the hardest thing I have ever done, but at the same time, it has brought me the most joy and happiness I have exerienced. Anyway, I just needed to get it out of me. Thanks for listening!!

Laughing Out Loud

Here is Nixon laughing out loud. Enjoy!!

Water Baby

I am SO proud to say that Nixon is taking after his mama. After all, it's in his genes right?!?! We went to the pool for the first time last week. I wasn't sure how he was going to like the water, especially cause the other babies that are out here didn't like the water at all. Well, Nixon LOVED it!! He didn't make a peep when we first put him in it and it was pretty cold when you first got in. We got him this little floatie and he is content as can be when he's in it. We have been to the pool everday since and he loves it. And of course, I am so happy that he loves the water cause we all know that I do too!

Random

This is kind of a ramdom post but all of Nixon's grandparents back at home keep wanting new posts and pictures of the little guy.

Here he is in his bumbo chair. He is liking it a lot more lately. I will sit him in it to feed him his rice cereal, when I get ready for the day, and when I'm cooking. I sit him in it on the counter (I pay goood attention to him when he's on the counter) when I cook and he just watches me. He usually has to be able to see me so he's happy. I love that he loves him Bumbo chair. He also lets me know when he's sick of it. He arches his back and tries to get out of it, although thankfully he can't get out of it himself.
Grandma Warren got him this cute little outfit. I told her I would take a picture of him in it when he wore it. Notice the spit bubbles on his lips. He is ALWAYS blowing them and is always drooling.
I thought this picture was hilarious. He's totally passed out with his belly hanging out and his feet crossed. And of course he has his little blankey. And Grandma Huish got him these super cute pj's. The shorts are like little boxers. So cute!!

Mom and Dad Time

I absolutely LOVE this picture. Daddy and Nixon taking a nap together. The blankie that's over his face is his must have for naps. He has to have his little cuddle buddy when he naps and it always ends up covering his face. I always check on him when he's napping and I will move it off of his face, and when I go back in to check on him, it's back over his face. I guess he knows what he likes!!

I freakin LOVE this little guy. I love that I get to spend all day everyday with him. He makes me so happy. I definitely have my moments where I need a little break, (what mom doesn't??) but I love that he's my little partner everyday. Here we are just getting ready to go out to dinner with everyone. He's such a little stud!

Memphis in May

This past Saturday, the wives out here went to Memphis in May. Apparently it's a huge deal, and everyone was telling us we had to go. So we went. And honestly, we don't know what the big deal was. We went to the B.B.Q. competition and it really wasn't that neat. It was cool to see how people set up their little booth and stuff, but it was really hot and the babies were fussy. We ended up walking around a little bit, eating lunch (some good b.b.q.) and leaving. We all got home sunburned (not Nixon) and tired. It was fun to see downtown Memphis and it was nice to get out and do something.

These three pictures are the only pictures I took at the festival.

I thought this was pretty neat. This is the Mississippi River and that bridge crosses the river. I liked the bridge and thought it was pretty cool.

Rice Cereal

This post is mainly for our parents. We fed Nixon rice cereal for the first time on Tuesday and I had to get it on video for them. (And for us to have of course.) He seemed to like it. He obviously didn't understand how to swallow it this first time, but at least he didn't hate it. I have been feeding it to him everyday, and today, he loved it. He's totally getting the hang of it and liking it more and more. He's already an eater, but I have a feeling he's going to be even more of an eater once he gets started on the real stuff!!

Here he is after he was all done eating!!

Here's the video of him eating. I love the part where he goes after the spoon. Today when I was feeding him, he would get so excited and move his arms and legs like crazy when the spoon would get close to his mouth. I'm going to have to get that on video sometime. It's super cute!

4 months

We finally got our internet hooked up. I have lots to update on. And just f.y.i. I am going to have lots of Nixon posts so our family back home can see him while we are gone.

Here he is on his 4 month birthday. He's getting so big and is a happy boy. He's getting to be so much fun and has the cutest personality. Everyday he discovers something new and I love watching him as he is learning new things. I love being a mom and wouldn't trade it for anything. At his four month appointment, he amazed us all.
His stats are: 15 lbs 11 oz. (75%)
27in. (above the 95%)
17 in. head (75%)
Our doc. couldn't believe how tall he is. When he showed us the chart, the dot for his height was off the chart. He is definitely going to be a tall boy. He's super healthy and that's all we can ask for. Here's what he's doing.

-smiling all the time
-laughing out loud
-talking a lot
-rolling over and over and over
-loves to sit up and face out
-loves to stand up
-sleeps thorough the night so good
-grabs onto everything
-puts anything he grabs onto straight into his mouth
-loves his johnny jump up
-arches his back and butt off the ground when laying on his back
-great at holding his head up
-loves his rice cereal

Here's a super cute video of him rolling over and over like he does. I can't just put him on a couch or the bed anymore because never lays still anymore. He's all over the place now. Definitely an active boy!!!

Advice

Ok so Nixon and I are flying out to Memphis to finally be with Nic. I have been nervous all week, but am especially nervous now that it's tomorrow. I just have anxiety about flying with Nixon since it's my first time on a plane with him. So if any of you have advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
