Nixon's 1 Year Check Up

I took Nixon to his 1 year check up last week and we were all amazed. He's definitely VERY healthy and we are SO grateful for that.
Nixon's Stats
26.4 lbs....off the charts!
32 in....95%tile
Our Dr. kept saying that he couldn't believe that he weighs that much because he's not fat at all. He called him a "solid brick." And that's exactly what he is. He's exactly where he should be right now. YAY!!! We are so blessed to have such a healthy & happy little boy!!!

Nixon's Birthday Dinner

The day of Nixon's birthday was pretty mellow since we did his party Sunday night. Him and I hung out all day and had lots of fun playing with his toys and watching some baby Einstein D.V.D's. He was so happy all day! He even took a 2 1/2 hour nap and that doesn't happen very often! We went out to dinner with my parents for his birthday dinner. We went to our favorite Mexican place called Maria Bonita. It's a little hole in the wall place but it is delicious!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this super cute picture of Nixon!!! Grandma was making him laugh so hard.
Everyone singing happy birthday to Nixon. They brought out Flan for him (mostly for us) and they seriously have the best flan ever!!!!

OK so this little lady is Maria. She is the main lady at Maria Bonita and we go there so much that she knows all of us. She is seriously the sweetest lady ever. She wanted to get a picture with all of us so the next time we come in she can hang the picture on the wall. HAHA.

We had a great night with great food and lots of laughs. Thanks mom and dad!!!!

Nixon's Birthday Party

We had Nixon's 1st birthday party Sunday night and it turned out to be so much fun! We had all of our immediate family over and he got SO SO SO spoiled. But of course, he is SO worth it. We started out the night by eating dinner. We had soups in soup bowls, yummy salads and some yummy appetizers.

Our super cute niece Madi hold Nixon.

After dinner we decided it was time to open presents. I'm pretty sure he remembered how to do things because of Christmas, but he still needed a little bit of help. Colby was right there helping him along the way and he loved it.
He's so into his present. He got so much super fun and super cute stuff. Thank you all SO much!
His baseball birthday cake that I made. I know it isn't the prettiest looking thing, but I was proud of it because it's the first cake that I decorated all by myself! Here's the before!
Getting ready to dig into his cake. This picture was while we were all singing to him.

For Christmas, Madi got a cake making kit so she asked me if she could make a cake of Nixon. She was so excited about it. Here she is with the cake that she made. She was so proud of it and was so excited for Nixon to dig into it.
Here he is in all of his glory with both of his yummy cakes.

Such a cute little mess. But he's not so little anymore. This picture seriously makes him seem so big!

And the after!

After he got all cleaned up, he went crazy playing with the balloons that we got him. He LOVES playing with them!!!

Thank you to everyone that came and made it such a special night for Nixon. He had so much fun playing with everyone and we love that he loves his aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins so much. THANK YOU!!!!

Happy Birthday Nixon!!

My little man is 1 today!!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. He has turned into such a fun little guy that isn't so little anymore. I have a whole bunch of pictures of him from this past year.
Here he is ready to come home from the hospital. I can't believe how little he looks in his car seat.At home after mommy has rocked him to sleep. I SO wish he would still do this with me. The only person he still does it with is my mom. He LOVES his grandmas.

One of his newborn pictures. This was one of my favorites.

Exhausted after tummy time.
Loves his bath time!

Cute little smile.
This was one of his favorite positions for a little while.

He loved the pool this summer.

Handsome little man.

Dear Nixon,
Mommy and Daddy want you to know how much we love you. You are an amazing little guy and you bring so much joy and happiness to our lives. We are SO SUPER lucky that you chose us to be your parents. We have had some difficult times with you because you were a challenging baby, but it has all been worth every single second with you. You are becoming such an athletic, outgoing, energized little boy and we are so excited to see what you become. You love your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins so much. You have so much family that absolutely loves and adores you and you are SO lucky to have that. You have been such a blessing to so many people. Keep being happy and keep doing the things that you are doing, and I promise you will be blessed in so many ways. Thank you for being you and just remember how much you are loved. We love you Bubba.
