Sammy the Snowman

Right after Taytum was born we had a big snowstorm.
Nic took Nixon out to help him build his first snowman.
Nixon loves being outside no matter what the temperature is.
Here are Daddy and Nixon with Sammy the snowman.
Nic told me to name the snowman and Sammy was the first thing that came to mind.
Well, the name stuck.
Any snowman that Nixon now sees is Sammy.
It's pretty funny!!!
Nixon was so proud of the snowman!!!

More Hospital Pictures

This is one of my favorite pictures we have so far.
Daddy finally has his little girl.
She already has him wrapped around his finger!
This is another one of my favorites.
This was the first time Nixon met his little sister!
So precious.
Our little girl.

Taytum Ellie Warren

Taytum finally decided to join our family on Dec. 1st!!
We are so happy she's finally here.
The top picture is of me just hanging out waiting for the time to pass. I'm hooked up to Pitocin and I have my epidural so I'm good to go!!!

On Monday, Nov. 29th I went in for my weekly checkup and I was still dilated to a 2 and not effaced at all. That's how I left my appointment the previous week. So I was a little disappointed to hear that but I have an amazing Dr. and he knew that I was ready to have this baby! Dr. Weibell decided that he would induce me that Wednesday, December 1st because he was going to be out of town for the rest of the week and he wanted to make sure that he delivered me.

So on Wednesday, Dec. 1st, Nic and I headed to the hospital at 6:30 in the morning. I didn't sleep much the night before because I obviously had a lot on my mind and was pretty anxious about being induced. Once we got to the hospital I got all checked in and they took us to our room. By about 7:30-8 I was hooked up to everything, got my epidural, had my water broken, and the waiting process began. I was still a 2 when I got to the hospital. Dr. Weibell thought that I should be able to deliver hopefully by lunch time. Thankfully, I couldn't feel a thing. I could tell from the computer screen that I was having pretty intense contractions and they were coming on really quick. Thank goodness for epidurals!!!!! Just before 10:00 a.m. I could feel a lot of pressure down there and my nurse came in and randomly decided to check me. Her exact words were, "O.M.G. you're complete." She then ran out of the room to see if Dr. Weibell had left the hospital yet. As soon as she ran out, about 3 other nurses came in and they were hurrying to get everything ready and set up. Nic and I were wondering what was going on. I asked one of the nurses what was going on and she said that we were going to have the baby!!! I couldn't believe it. It all happened so fast! My regular nurse came back and said that Dr. Weibell would be right there. Luckily he had just barely left the hospital when she called him so he just had to turn around and he was there. He came in and I was ready to push. I started pushing at 10:10 a.m., pushed through three contractions and she was born at 10:14 a.m.!!!!! It seriously happened so fast!!!!! We were so happy to have an amazing doctor and wonderful nurses there to help us. She was perfect and we were so happy to have her as an addition to our family.

Taytum Ellie Warren
December 1st, 2010
7lbs. 7oz.
20 in. long

Here I am right after she was born.
We decided on her middle name while we were waiting to have her.
We combined Elaine and Julie (our mom's names) and came up with Ellie.
Here we our with Dr. Weibell. He's seriously the best O.B. ever!
Nic went with her when she got her first bath. She didn't like it so much!
We had the decision to stay two days in the hospital or go home the next day.
Since I was feeling so good and she was so healthy, we decided to go home the next day.
Being home is SO much better than being in the hospital!!!!
My little angel baby passed out on my chest.
She loves to cuddle and I LOVE it and take full advantage of it.
So stinkin cute!!!
This is typical these days.
I tend to fall asleep very quickly and randomly.
I have to say though that she is an angel baby.
I have to wake her up to feed her and she goes back to sleep pretty quickly after she eats.
And she is the queen of sleep.
I've wondered once in a while if everything is OK with her because she's so opposite of the way Nixon was.
Like I've said before, we are so happy to have her in our family and we are so blessed that we get to be her parents!

Poison Control

These last two days Nic and I have become familiar with calling Poison Control.
The first incident happened on Thursday.
Nixon and I were getting ready to leave when I look over and he has a bottle of Potassium vitamins open and the vitamins are all over the place.
I immediately call my doctor's office and they tell me to call poison control.
A really nice man named Mike answered and helped me.
Luckily Potassium is a really mild vitamin and the worst that could happen was that Nixon would have an upset stomach and throw up.
Luckily, that never happened.
The next incident happened yesterday, which was Friday.
Keep in mind that I had just called poison control the day before and spoke with Mike.
I'm at Target and I get a phone call from Nic.
I can tell there's panic in his voice.
He immediately tells me to call poison control.
So then I start to get really nervous.
I ask him why and he says that Nixon was holding a Black Widow and he doesn't know if he got bit or not.
I immediately start freaking out.
I am DEATHLY afraid of spiders.
So I call poison control and guess who answers???
MIKE!!!
Of course. He's probably thinking we neglect our child by now.
I tell him I spoke with him yesterday about my son Nixon and he's says, "yes I remember."
HA HA.
He then helps me once again and tells me what to do.
Luckily, once again, Nixon was ok.
He didn't get bit!!!!!
And apparently he's really lucky that he didn't get bit because Black Widow's are really aggressive spiders and they usually bite.
So Nic and I now have poison controls phone number saved in our phones.
It's a really good idea now that I think about it, especially with having an almost 2 year old little boy!!!!

Halloween Festivities

We have been pretty busy for the last little while doing some really fun things.
I LOVE this time of year.
The weather.
The colors.
All the fun festivities.
The fun parties.
All the yummy food.
Time with friends.
Time with family.
It's great!!!

We started out by carving pumpkins one night.
(sorry about the crappy iPhone pictures...I couldn't find my camera)
The top one is Nic's pumpkin.
This is my pumpkin.
Nixon LOVED the "punkins" lit up.

We had a girls night one night and went and saw Thriller.
We of course went to Cafe Rio for dinner first.
It was my first time seeing Thriller.
It was SO good.
I loved all the great dancing.
I love these girls.
We had a really fun time!!!

Here is the cutest little Woody ever.
Anyone who knows Nixon, knows that he LOVES Toy Story.
He loved his costume.
He did not want to take it off.
But it's a good thing that they are Woody pajamas because he can wear them whenever he wants now.
And he LOVES his new boots.
He wears them all the time now.
Momma and Woody.
This picture took a while to get.
He did not have time to sit and take pictures.
He loved his trick or treat bag.
Once he caught on that he got candy when he said trick or treat, he was all about it.
He's still carrying his bag around.
Nixon loves holding his cute little cousin Jude.
He gets so excited when he gets to hold him. (with our help of course)

We also had a really really fun party with all of our friends.
None of us wanted to dress up so we just had yummy food and played some super fun games.
I have no pictures from that party.
Hopefully someone else does.
Then on the actual day of Halloween, Josh and Meg and the kids came over and we had lots of fun.
We had some REALLY yummy food.
The kids played like crazy.
And the adults all visited and hung out.
It was a lot of fun!!!
Anyway, we had a lot of fun in October but I'm so excited for November to be here.
I'm excited for all the family time coming up.
And only 4 1/2 weeks until we get to meet Taytum!!!!!

Maternity Pictures

My super talented friend Andrea, who did the pictures of Nixon, called me and asked if she could do some maternity pictures of me.
I, of course, said yes!
She is SO good and I'm glad I got some pictures of this pregnancy.
I'm 32 weeks in these pictures.
I'm now 34 weeks.
Only 5 1/2 more to go!!!!!
We are almost positive on the name Taytum for our little girl.
Once again, thank you SO much Ange for these pictures.
They mean A LOT to me!!!!!

It makes me sad but so happy at the same time.
He's growing so fast and learning so much these days.
He doesn't miss a thing....good or bad!
He makes us so happy and keeps us laughing all the time.
My good friend Andrea took these pictures and she did an absolute amazing job!
I'm in love with them.
Andrea, thank you so much!!!!!!

He's going to be such a good big brother.
Only 7 more weeks!!!!

Life These Days

Life these days has been pretty eventful. We've gone and fed the ducks.

Nixon loved throwing the bread to the ducks.
He threw a huge meltdown fit when it was time to leave.
The fit included melting to the ground which then led to him getting duck poop all over himself.
It was great.
Nixon has loved helping daddy with his fire homework.
Nic had to do some simulation fires with different things and Nixon was in awe.
I love that Nixon is in his diaper outside hanging out with daddy.
I took Nixon to The Little Gym in Orem for a free trial class.
He absolutely loved it.
He was in heaven.
He could run around and jump and fall into things and he didn't get hurt or get in trouble for it.
Why wouldn't he love it?!?!
I'm totally sold on the place.
Nic isn't at all.
So we'll see what we decide to do. HAHA.
They had super cute little kid music playing the whole time and Nixon loves to dance.
And check out how red his cheeks are.
He gets red, just like his momma, when he gets hot.
We've been having lots of fun these days.
I'm sad that summer's pretty much over.
But I love fall and am super excited for all the holidays which mean the baby's coming soon!
I need idea's of how to keep a 2 year old who loves to be outside entertained during the winter.
All idea's are welcomed!!

A Late 20 Month Post

Here's our little man.
He loves to put on our shoes.
He especially loves to wear daddy's shoes and his hats.
He's so big and so much fun.
I'm pretty way behind on doing his monthly posts, but life has been crazy busy lately and I've just gotten behind. But it's ok.
For my sake, I have to do a list of things he's doing these days. I don't even know where to begin and I'm sure I'll leave things out. Oh well.
Here goes..
-he's talking a TON
-loves to help daddy mow the lawn
-LOVES to ride the 4 wheeler....I think it's his favorite thing
-loves to sweep
-loves to help mommy vacuum...he gets his little toy vacuum out every time I vacuum
-loves to help me unload the dishwasher
-loves to help me do laundry...he like to throw the clothes in the washer and then he loves to help me load the clothes into the dryer
-loves his little red and yellow little tykes car
-is able to tell us what he wants and what he doesn't want
-is still a great nap taker and sleeper at night
-knows all of his body parts
-points to my belly then kisses it when we ask him where the baby is
-loves to read books before bedtime
-won't start eating his food until we say a prayer...he'll sit there with his arms folded and wait
-says thank you all the time..please comes once in a while
-Grandma taught him to say GOOOOO Cougars and pump his fist in the air while doing it and now he does it ALL the time
-loves to play on my dad's boat
-still loves to play outside ALL the time...I'm a little worried about winter time but we'll figure it out
-tells us how old he is and puts up his pointer finger when we ask how old he is
-as soon as I take a picture of him he has to look at it on the camera or my phone
-loves to watch nature and hunting shows with daddy
-he still whines a lot

He's seriously getting so big and growing up so fast.
He's not my baby anymore.
He's a little boy.
It makes me kinda sad, but I LOVE seeing him learn new things everyday.
He's so much fun to be with.
I love being able to spend so much time with him.
He knows how to push my buttons...that's for sure.
I run out of patience with him sometimes.
He makes me tired these days.
It's all worth it though.
Especially when we randomly says "Luh Loo" (love you).
We laugh together all the time.
He's so entertaining to be around.
Nic and I are so lucky.
We love this little guy so much.
We can't wait to see him be a big brother.
We have a lot to be thankful for, that's for sure!!!

First Sewing Experience

So for most of you that know me, you know that I'm not a very creative person and I'm not a crafty person, although I SO wish I was. Well, my mom invited me to her enrichment night Tuesday night because they were making hair accessories and I was so excited to go to learn how to make some cute stuff for the baby. I was so surprised at how easy they were. I can't wait to make more!

Here's the first thing I made. We bought her a super cute dress that this is going to look so cute with!! I was seriously so excited about it. HAHA.
And this is the other one I made that night.
My mom made these two. We were both seriously so excited to make them and we were so excited at how easy they were to make.
Thanks for letting me tag along mom!!!!

Getting All Caught Up

This picture has nothing to do with this post, but I love this picture and posts without pictures are pretty boring. Anyway, we have had a lot going on the past couple of weeks. The first big thing is that we are all FINALLY home. Nixon and I flew home (it was seriously the flight from hell) last week Friday and then Nic joined us this past Wednesday. The Boston office moved down to Georgia and he was going to go with them but then we had a few things happen and we knew that the right thing to do was for Nic to come home. So he left Monday morning and started the long drive all by himself. He made it home safely on Wednesday afternoon and Nixon and I were so excited to be with him. For any summer sales wives out there, you all know that you hardly see your hubby's all summer. It has seriously felt like we haven't seen Nic all summer. It's been so nice to finally be able to spend time with him and hang out with him.
And sorry about the quality of this picture. It's and iPhone pic and for some reason turned out all fuzzy. Friday night Nic and I went to the Jack Johnson concert. This is the only picture we took all night. We had a fun time just hanging out not having to worry about a thing. It was my 5th time seeing him in concert and Nic's first time so he was pretty excited. The very first opening act was a band called ALO, we've never heard of them before, and frankly, didn't like them very much. When they started to play Nic and I both looked at each other and thought that the music was extra loud. HAHA. We weren't sure if it's because we're old parents now or if it was extra loud. It turned out that that particular band was extra loud for some reason because we were fine the rest of the concert. We enjoyed the evening and after the concert headed to the Marriot hotel up in Cottonwoood canyon. Nixon had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's and as always, had a blast. Saturday Nic and I went up to Park City and did some shopping for Nixon and the little one on the way. It was a very nice little getaway with just the two of us because it seriously has felt like Nic and I haven't had any alone time all summer. Thank you so much mom and dad!!!!

Nic starts school again on the 26th. He starts the fire academy at UVU and is so excited to be getting into that. I'm going back to work part time so it's going to feel like we're getting back into our old routine. Nixon is 19 months old now and is as busy as ever. He's nonstop all the time and he definitely keeps us busy and on our toes at all times. He's the cutest thing ever and we love him to death. We're SO SO SO happy to be back in Utah. We're loving the dry summer heat compared to the nasty hot, humid weather back in Mass. It's been so nice to be back home with all of our families!!

Our 4th

4 years ago today I married my best friend.
He's my partner in everything I do.
My jokester to make me laugh.
My shoulder to cry on.
My advice giver.
An AMAZING father.
A great example to me, Nixon, and baby on the way.
A VERY hard worker.
And most of all, my main support.
He loves me no matter what I do or how I look.
I seriously am SO SO SO lucky to be married to him

Thanks, babe for everything you do for our family.
I don't know what we'd do without you.
Brad Paisley says it best: "I thought I loved you then."
Little did I know how much my love would grow for you.
I love you more and more each day.
Happy 4th sweetie!!!!

Half Way Done!!!

I am officially half way done with this pregnancy!!!
YAY!!!
It hasn't been too bad.
I was a little bit sick at the beginning but it was nothing compared to how sick I was with Nixon so I really can't complain.
Here is a picture of me and my belly at 21 weeks.
(Nic and I just got done playing tennis so that's why I look so good. haha)
We also had our ultrasound to find out what we're having.
We went in and they took all of the baby's measurements and then at the end of the ultrasound told us that the baby wasn't cooperating and they couldn't tell what it was.
So of course, we were disappointed.
We went back two weeks later and found out that....
IT'S A GIRL!!!!!
We are SO excited to have a little girl in our family.
