Hard Head

So the same day that we went to Salem Pond turned into being Nixon's first trip to the ER.
We had only been there for about 15-20 min.
Nic was getting his fishing line ready.
Nixon had been practicing casting his line.
Nixon then yells for me and says that his hook is stuck in his hair and it hurts.
I walk over and check it out and sure enough the hook is in his head.
Way past the barb.
The hook isn't even budging.
Nic comes over to check it out.
Tries to pull it out with his fishing pliers.
No luck.
Nixon hasn't even cried at all.
He's a tough little boy.
We decide it's probably best to take him in so they can numb him and get it out.
When we got to the emergency room all the ER were coming over to see his hook in his head.
Everyone was getting a kick out of it.
We had to hold him down for the nurse to be able to numb him.
That was the only time he cried.
After he was numb, the Dr. came and cut a little slit so it was easier for him to get it out.
And that was it.
No stitches were needed.
Nixon was a tough little man the whole time.
We are glad that it wasn't any worse!

Salem Pond

Salem Pond is our families favorite little secret place to hang out.
We love it there.
It's beautiful.
Nixon loves to fish.
They have a path that goes around the entire pond that we walk and feed the ducks.
Nixon always has his bike or scooter with him.
And there is also a playground that the kids love to play on.

Nixon is becoming quite the little fisherman.

When we went last week, we loved watching these little ducklings.

Taytum loved the ducklings too!

Like I said, it's beautiful!

Cute little Tayti.
You can bet that we'll be here a lot more this summer!

Playing Catch Up

It has been so long since I have updated my blog.
Like 4 months too long.
We have been busy in that span of time and a lot has been going on.
The biggest news that we have is that we moved into a town house in Spanish Fork.
We are absolutely loving it.
We have so many fun neighbors and there are a ton of kids to play with.
Nixon and Tayti are in heaven!
They love it too.

This little guy isn't so little anymore.
He definitely looks older and acts older. (most of the time)
He's riding his bike without training wheels. (for about 3 weeks now)
Nic built him a bike ramp and he has no fear!!!
He loves to play outside.
That hasn't changed since he was super little.
He is a handful.
But there is never a dull moment with him!

And this little chika is 17 months now.
She is SO much fun!
She is such a ham.
She's still super mellow and loves to do her own thing.
She's such an easy little baby.
She's now getting into everything and is ALL over the place.
We love her little personality and we love watching it get bigger and bigger.

We have a small deck and one day Nixon came inside, handed me his shirt and told me that he needed to get some sun on his tummy.
He's definitely his mommy's son.

Right in our back yard we have a fun swing set.
Nixon is ALWAYS swinging on them.
He has just learned how to pump his legs which has been nice for Nic and I.
We can just send him out and keep an eye on him from our house.
When we don't go out with him, Taytum LOVES to sit out on the deck and watch the kids play.

We went to a BYU vs. UVU baseball game and had a blast.
Nixon was in heaven.

He had to wear all of his baseball gear to the game.
He makes his daddy proud.
Nixon loves baseball and I don't think that could make Nic any happier.

Nixon also got to go fishing with Papa Huish.
He loved being out on the boat.

Nic made his one year mark at Les Olsen Company in April.
We have seriously been blessed with him having this job.
My last day of work is this Friday.
I'll be off for the summer and still haven't decided if I'll go back to work when school starts in the fall.
I'm loving being able to spend so much time with my kids.
Life is good right now.
We are happy.
We are blessed.
And we are so thankful for all of the many blessings that we have in our life.
