Salem

Last Sunday we went to Salem, MA where the Salem witch trials took place. Honestly, there isn't much to do there and we didn't know that, so it was kind of a bust....but we still had a good time.

This is a statue of a witch in the middle of town.
Nic and Nixon in front of the witch museum. There wasn't really anything to look at in the museum because the trials happened so long ago that they don't really have any artifacts from when it happened. They put on reenactments of the witch trials in the museum but we didn't think that the kids would sit for an hour through the show so we decided to pass.

We walked to the beach and this cool boat was docked.

Nixon loved being with daddy all day. And he loved walking along this wall with daddy's help.
I seriously love this picture. He LOVES to push any stroller that he sees and he was loving pushing Hudson around in her stroller.

We finished the day off with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory which is always delicious!!

Harvard Square

Last Saturday us wives that are out here decided to go site seeing in downtown Boston. We spent the day at Harvard Square and the surrounding area. We saw a lot and had a fun time hanging out with each other.

Here's my little heart breaker.
We started out the day by eating at a Mexican restaurant called Borders Cafe and it was OK. Their chips and salsa was really good but that's about it. I guess we're spoiled with really good Mexican food in Utah. Here are Andrea and I.
Jess & Char
My little buddy and I.
This is one of the entrances to Harvard. It's seriously the most gorgeous college campus ever. It's so old and so pretty. All the buildings are very cool looking.
Me, Nixon, Jess and Andrea in front of another old building at Harvard.
This is the library. They were getting graduation all set up while we were there so we were lucky enough to see these banners up. It totally reminds me of the movies.
Us girls in front of the library.
This is a really old cathedral right across the street from Harvard. It is so cool!!! It even has gargoyles at the very top of it.
Across from Harvard is the Charles river. We took a break from walking around and let the little kiddies run around the park area.

Handsome little dude
I seriously LOVE this picture. Look at Hudson resting her head on Nixon. SO cute!
I can't help posting all these cute pictures of him!!!!

Thanks girls for the fun day out. We are going to have many more!!!

All About Nixon

My little man is close to being 17 months old and he's growing like a weed!!! He's definitely not my little baby anymore which makes me sad, but he is SO SO SO much fun right now. I am seriously loving this age. There are times when he wears me out because he never stops, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I haven't done a post on him for the last 2 months to update on what he's doing so this is basically for me to remember when I get my blog printed into a book.

This is his favorite position to sleep or just lounge around lately. Whenever we put him down for a nap or for the night, his arms automatically go up behind his head. He does it in his car seat, when he's sitting on the couch watching t.v. and even when we change his diaper sometimes. I love it and think it's the cutest thing ever!
He's been such a happy little guy lately. He's always making us laugh and he's always making other people laugh too. He's not shy AT ALL and he's a very outgoing little guy. He says and waves hi and bye to anybody we walk by whether it's at the park, at the grocery store or anywhere that we are. He's always smiling!! Out here in Boston, babies aren't a common occurrence like they are in Utah. We seriously can't go anywhere without people commenting on him. They always say how handsome and how cute he is and I would definitely have to agree with them!!

This is his surprised and excited face. When he sees a train, a truck, an airplane, or a tractor he always looks at me, points at it and makes this face. I'm SO glad Andrea got a picture of it because I have attempted so many times and haven't been able to get in on camera. This picture was when we were on the metro and he loved seeing the other trains go by.
He is such a curious little guy. He's seriously always looking around pointing at things. He never misses a thing!!!
Here are some things that he's doing as of late. ( I don't even know where to start)
-LOVES to be outside...he could be outside all day and night if we let him
-loves to go to the park and swing and go down slides
-LOVES to read his books
-enjoys watching Handy Manny and the Mickey Mouse Club (for short periods of time)
-climbs on anything that he can
-starting to imitate things that we do and say
-loves to look at our family picture book of everyone back home and he points out and says who everyone is
-loves fruit
-says bye to EVERYTHING ex: his bath toys when he gets out of the bath, the fridge when he closes the door, any room when he shuts the door, his clothes when we close a drawer, I mean everything
-dances anytime he hears music
-snaps his fingers when he dances (it doesn't make a sound but it's super cute)
-constantly talking (Nic and I are pretty much the only ones that understand what he's saying)
-says ball, more, Manny, hot dog, no more, bath, thank you, please, slide, mama, dada, papa, grandma, Lani, Char Char, Emmi, car, plane, ball, bike, water, baby, choo-choo, binky, blankie (obviously not the exact word but in his baby talk that we understand)
-knows where his hair, head, nose, ears, eyes, mouth, hands, feet, toes and belly button are
-lifts up his shirt when we ask him where his belly button is
-opens his mouth and sticks out his tongue when we ask where his mouth is or when we ask to see what's in his mouth
-can make the sound of a cow, monkey, chicky, lion, tiger, pig, horse and dog
-asks us for his binky and blankie when he wants them
-he tells us no when he doesn't want something or when he doesn't want to do something
-constantly on the go
-he hates to have his hands dirty (just like his daddy)
-he'll wipe his hands on anyone or anything he can when he gets them dirty
-when both of his papa's are around, they are the only one he wants
-since Nic is gone all day every day, when he's home, Nixon's attached to his hip and Nic LOVES it!

He keeps Nic and I on our toes at all times because he's always up to something. He can be a little stinker at times. When he knows we aren't watching him, he's usually up to no good. He makes us laugh so much and he knows when he's being funny. We are seriously loving this age right now. I know that it's only going to get funner from now on but we are trying to soak all of this in. I am seriously so lucky to be the little guy's mom. He brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. Nic and I are VERY lucky!!!

Finally an Update!

It's been a long time since I have last updated and there has been A LOT going on. We have been really busy so I'm going to try and catch up briefly.

Nic left for Boston about a month ago. We went out to breakfast the morning he left. He got Nixon dressed this morning and he looked SO freakin cute!!!

While daddy was gone, Nixon and I had lots of fun. We went to the Hoagle zoo with Emily and Steele (Emily, none of my pictures with Steele in them turned out..do you have any?). The boys loved the animals and loved playing on the playground.

We went to Kangaroo Zoo with everyone so all the cousins could play. They love that place and the older kids are so cute with Nixon. They all take turns taking him on the different slides and jumping with him.
Nixon has found that he can climb in and out of the dryer and he LOVES it!!
Nixon and I finally joined Nic in Boston a week and a half later. Here are Nixon and I on the metro (the subway) heading to downtown Boston. Nixon also got a super cute summer haircut. He looks so much older and so much like his daddy now.
Nixon loved riding on the train and held onto this pole most of the ride.
Posing for the camera.
Street dancers in downtown Boston.
This little guy was like 7 years old and he was so cute!
Some old buildings in downtown. We are really liking in out here. Nic is working SO SO SO much so we don't really get to see him that often. He only has Sundays off so that's our day to play. Nixon is now 16 months old and he is getting so big. He's doing and saying so much now. I will do a post on him later. We are having fun and are excited for the rest of the summer!
