Late 8 Month Post

This 8 month post of Nixon is almost a month late, but it's mostly for my sake since this blog is pretty much where I keep track of things and it's like my journal. Anyway, he's growing so fast and is non-stop ALL THE TIME. He seriously does not and I don't think he knows how to sit still. He is ALWAYS on the go or doing something. He's very very alert and is always looking around to see what he can get into next. He is so much fun and is such a happy boy.

He LOVES bath time. Whenever he hears the bath water running, he crawls straight to the tub.

Things he's doing at 8 months:

-crawling super fast

-stands and walks holding onto whatever he can

-stands without holding onto anything

-has his two bottom teeth

-talks a ton (mama, dada, baba)

-clicks his tongue on the top of his mouth

-smacks his lips together

-scrunches his nose when he gets excited

-kicks his legs super fast when he gets excited

-flails his arms when he gets excited

-feeds himself Cheerios's and other foods

-eats solids 3-4 times a day

-sleeps 12+ hours a night

-takes power naps during the day

-knows his parents and grandparents very well

-raises his arms in touchdown formation when you say "touchdown"

-knows patty cake

-loves playing peek-a-boo

-crawls up stairs very quickly

And this is Nixon sleeping in what we call his "stink bug." This is his favorite position to sleep in. We love it and think it is so cute!!!

I can't believe that he is going to be 9 months old next week. It's amazing how time flies, especially because we are so busy. But life is good!!!

Part of an Update

It has been forever since I have done an update. We've been having a busy summer and lots has been going on. I can't believe that summer is pretty much over, but I have to say that I am excited for it to cool down. Nic started school at U.V.U. and he's loving it. He has a long road ahead of him, but he's very focused and really excited to get his degree. I'm still working at the spa and Nixon is having fun and growing fast. He's now 8 months old and he's a wild little boy.

Nixon with Aunty Lani at my dad's surprise 60th birthday. We pulled of the surprise and he had no idea. Here's how we did it: The party started at 4:30 so we told everyone to be there at 4. Nic and my dad went to Cabela's. Nic told my dad that they HAD to leave there at 4 because Nic and I were going out with some friends that night. (if you all know my dad, he could be in that store FOREVER) I called Nic a little after 4 telling him that Lani was babysitting Nixon while we went out and I dropped them off at the park, but I forgot the stroller. Nic had the stroller in his car so he told my dad that they had to stop at the park to give Lani the stroller. He totally bought it!!! We were all waiting at the park. Nic said as they pulled up my dad was all, "weird, that's Sterling's truck" (Sterling is his best friend) and then he's all "Elaine's here too." HAHA. Then he saw everyone and was like "oh my hell." We TOTALLY pulled it off. He had no idea about anything. Aunt Kathleen and Uncle Gary drove up from Phoenix and he had no idea they were there either. It was a lot of fun. There were a lot of peole there. Great company, yummy food and tons of fun. It was a great time!!

Lani and I with Nixon, and my cousin's baby Alexa. She lives in Phoenix so we were excited to see her. Her and Nixon are 7 weeks apart, and she is such a cute chunk.

The day after my dad's party, we went to my grandma's house and had taco's with the family. Uncle Scott made grandma's taco's and they are the best taco's ever!!!

Nixon LOVES LOVES LOVES the pool. My mom and dad bought this little blow up pool for their backyard and he loves playing in it. Grandpa loves to hang out with him by the pool too.
